Setting up your own website is easier than expected. As the number of online classrooms increases. Teachers have seen the need to update their classroom structure to accommodate the online student. Teachers shouldn’t rely exclusively on a Voicethread, a Facebook page, or Google classroom, for their classroom platform. Wix Blog (2020) has a step-by-step guide explaining how to create a website.

A website designed by the teacher for their personal classroom can enhance and promote student involvement. Building and maintaining a web page may not always be the ideal resolution, particularly when you’re busy teaching 7 classes a day. In these circumstances, you may want to hire a web designer who can assist you in setting up a classroom website. Many sites offer ways to share your content with your students and the public, for instance, posting links on particular days adding your podcast or blog page. If you’re sharing your content, it’s important that the information is credible by using trustworthy information.

If you chose to spend the time creating a website you might as well make it pop. According to Hanna (2020), typography will enhance your website’s personality. Typography is the style, arrangement, and appearance of the letters laid out to make the reading visually pleasing. Typography design is about more than simply making the words legible but arranging them with a purpose and within a design. The font style you choose and how it works with your page design will make the difference between a good, bad, or great webpage.

I can visualize the usefulness of a classroom web page. For me, my website will include items that will be helpful to parents, community members, and students. It will offer a place for parents to view game day information, a schedule of events, team pictures, and videos. I look forward to sharing with my students and colleagues the information I have gain while exploring building a website for the classroom.
